Best Face 2011 with IHF

So hard to pick just one favorite face from 2011. Of course, an image of my children will always be a favorite. As will the newborn images I took this year. Those are just givens.
So I picked one from an extremely fashion forward, fun senior sessions. The outfits and colors she chose were just perfect. And her hair was just beautiful really showcasing her eyes. Looking at her images just make me smile. It was a great session.

Modeling Call

It is a new year and at kOphotography 2012 means we will be focusing the attention on specializing in newborns. Doing that I am looking for a couple of newborn models to help build my portfolio.

Plus, I have purchased some AadoRaBle hats for Valentines day. Also, have inherited some new boy hats and ties. Thanks to my niece!! That are all dying to be used.

The life of photographers children is one filled with crazy, random, spur of the moment ‘please stand here just for a quick second.’ No one can tell you that better then my littles. Except usually the words that follow are “can you go change into a different outfit?’ and truly the moment last a bit longer maybe even 30 minutes. This week was no exception, I saw a tutorial on how to make beautiful Christmas light images. And how better to practice this technique then with my littles. They were good sports and oh so cute!

Now off to find white lights with white wire.. not liking the dark wire.

Autumn Splendor.

This week at I heart Faces they are celebrating autumn splendor. As most people know about me I dislike very much the cold weather that is about to arrive. But I do love the colors of autumn, the warm golden sun light that happens this time of year. Especially being a photographer I have really come to embrace the splendor of Autumn. I took this image last week while watching the littles playing. The sun was just going down and the rays were just gorgeous, I had no idea I heart Faces would be spotlight this this week but I was so excited to be able to participate. Recently, I have been overwhelmed by the realness that is Life. I have heard of several little ones taken to soon. It makes me almost to sad to truly enjoy my little ones just thinking of these families that no longer have their precious ones. This week I took one day and just enjoyed the littles being little. Yes, my house was not tended to, clothes didn’t get washed, dishes didn’t make it to the dishwasher, rooms not swept but laughter, tears, hugs and kisses were shared. Extra of those poured on them this day. I didn’t care that I was woke up at 6:30am and didn’t get to bed until much pass 10pm. I was reminding myself my friend would give anything for one more moment no matter the time. My heart breaks for these dear families.

This is what we enjoyed together this day. Ms. ‘C’ at ballet. The door gets closed for most of the class so I only got a few quick images. She loves to dance and is a great follower.

We walked to the park while ‘C’ finished up. I love this image of ‘F’ she just takes everything around her in. She is a women of few words but you know what she is thinking.

‘G’ attended a baseball camp put on by the High School Varsity Assistant coach. He had a blast! He loves baseball.

So intense.

What boy doesn’t try to get dirty. This slide ended in a few scrapes, which made him rethinking sliding again.

Ms.’C’ was into posing. Maybe that is the secret.. carry the camera around all day taking pictures of the mundane things then it is no big deal.

Even ‘F’ got into the posing.

Don’t want to forget this little look. It is one of my favorites. Sometimes it is not the smiles but the sweet little faces.

I don’t understand God’s ways sometimes, I don’t even know all of details to these little ones deaths.

I look to God when I don’t know what to do, to think or say. I pray for healing and comfort for these families that only God can provide. I thank God for the angels around my home and littles. I thank God for this one day to enjoy them.

Cake Smashing with 'R'

I've photographed this family before, but this time they decided to let little 'R' get his hands dirty with a cake smashing photo session. Although he was a little hesitant about the cake at first, with a little help from Mom and Dad he got messy and enjoyed the cake.

I am so excited to finally be able to post this blog about a fun photo play date I had back in May.

I photographed this fun couple for their wedding invitations and was so honored when they called me photograph them again.

Isn’t it so cute how much they are still like newly weds.

And then they let me in on a little secret..

I am going to be an AUNT again!!

This shoot was to make an announcement that they would be sending to all of their friends and family with their exciting news.

My sister finally!! emailed over the weekend that the last relative had received their card so it was safe to blog.

I have been dying to share these images. I love the colors, the creativity but most of all that I was once again a part of a big, exciting announcement.

She is 4!!! [children photographer]

I know all mom’s say “wow! where did the years go?’ I feel the same way looking at this little one of mine. Seems like just yesterday we were meeting our new little girl after 5 boys. The joy and excitement of holding her in my arms and looking at her little face is something I treasure. Now 4 years later I still love to hold her and look at the adorable face. She has grown and changed so much but is still a huge JOY to our family. She has a great personality, is funny, tender-hearted and full of sass. Loves all things princesses, pink, purple, lapshick aka lip gloss, shopping, and all of a sudden is totally into dresses! She is becoming a girly girly. Which I love!!

We had so much fun on your special day! It was really windy and a bit chilly but we made the best of it and of course, ended with ice cream.

Another thing I loved was the outfit. The dress is from a cute online store called posh principessa, theyhave the most Adorable clothes! Easy to work with and fast delivery. This dress is sleeveless and then can be a skirt when ‘C’ grows. It is also personalized.

The hair bows were custom made by a wonderful new friend I meet this year, Meghan. She is just starting to go public with her hair accessory line. Meghan was so great to work with I took the dress over to her she pulled out her ribbon stash and matched the colors perfectly. I picked them up a couple of days later. I was delighted to receive an email from baby ‘S’s mom a couple weeks before her arrival to schedule her newborn session. I had met ‘J’ and ‘J’ a few years ago to photograph their son. I love seeing my past clients families grow. It is such a huge bonus for me.

Little ‘J’ [Medina County Child photographer]

Turned 6 months last month but our schedules finally meshed a couple of Sundays ago. She had just got back from her first real trip, airplane and all, but you could not have ever guessed. She was all smiles and personality. Plus the help of some milky time, daddy singing the theme song to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and her big brother making silly sounds. We had a blast.

We just had to get her in her baby bikini.. How adorable are these next three.

I heart faces challenge shadows

This weeks challenge is shadows. I honestly love this image of a recent senior session because of the shadow.

While edited there is a cabin that was really important to him in the background, that I wanted to keep in the image. But I kept finding myself trying not to crop out the shadow. So in the end the shadow won. There is just something about it that speaks to me.

When I met ‘K’ I knew we were in for a fun shoot. She had her music cued and ready. She brought her fun personality and smile along. Her mom was totally prepared with her outfits and accessories. All the ingredients for a perfect shoot. I think the end result proves that.

Anxiously Awaiting new Arrivals

I am so excited to be waiting for not one but two new babies this week and next. Both families have decided to keep the sex of the babies a surprise. Which makes it all the more exciting.

While I met ‘J’ to discuss her birth plan and what images she wanted; we also had an impromptu maternity shoot. She is all baby. And has the best attitude about everything.

‘H’ and I planned her full maternity session and totally forgot to talk about her birth plan. But we caught up the next day and just in time.. it looks like we will be meeting this little one sooner than later.

She looks aaamazing for baby number 3!! Also, all baby. Just a gorgeous round belly.

Thanks for letting me capture such an intimate moment in your families lives. I feel so honored.

Baby ‘E’ 4 days new. [newborn photographer]

This little cutie was one of my best newborn models ever. She slept through all of my posing and moving around. It was the most fun. She has two big brothers. So we had to use all of the pink I brought!!

A Monday to Remember

Last Monday I had the honor to photograph a very special, strong, loved newborn. Baby ‘D’ was born Monday morning with a heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). A condition that has no cure but is treated with a series of operations. The first of which happened this past Thursday morning. According to his CaringBridge site things are going well. Baby ‘D’ is stable and heading in the right direction on his road to recovery.

Looking at this image this passage came to mind. When I pray for him I hold onto this promise. ¹¹ For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. - Jeremiah 29:11.

My husband came home a few weeks ago with this amazing gift. I have been looking at antique shops for a loong while for this. And drooling over images I have seen on other newborn photographers blogs using this prop.

Now thanks to my handy, carpenter, talented husband I have my very own…

yep, the newborn bed. Not really intended for a toddler but I just had to use it!! Don’t you love it?!!

‘A’ turned one last month but with sickness and pre-walker boo-boos we just got to his PPD. My oh My how much he has changed. He was so much more smiley this time.

I had a very fun PPD recently with little ‘J’. She has changed so much from this summer when we did her 18 month portraits in downtown Medina.

She is obsessed with balls and puppies. To get a smile from her she was promised french fries from McDonalds. So unreal how at that little they love McDonalds french fries.

She and her mommy are going to be great friends.

Joy of Love: Day 3 then & now [personal challenge]

It is day 3. A bit more challenging today. I picked Frank and I as the subject. Then had second thoughts because I would have to show an image with me in it. And I would have to have someone else take the photo. [can’t seem to figure out the self timer] So this image is not the best. but it works. ‘G’ our 5 year old took it.

So much as changed since that fun day at Cedar Point 10 years ago. A few more pounds, a few more grey hairs, not so fashion forward and the biggest change 3 more precious blessings to round out the family to 7 children. Yes I tried to position us with the new ones in the background. And yes frank is giving some loving guidance. This is us now.

Joy of LOVE: day one

I have been in a photography rut lately. I love Kelly Willette's photography and have been wanting to take one of her Finding Joy classes for a while. When she announced the Joy of Love class for the month of February I knew I wanted to try it.
I hope I will be able to keep it up for the month.
Today is day one and having a sick baby and a snow day I was able to accomplish the first homework assignment.

This week over at I heart faces is holding a challenge of the best face from January 2011. The best part is you all my readers, family and friends get to vote. I looked through all my January images. It was a tough decision as I had a ‘Forget Me Knot’ baby come back as a 2 year old with some really cute faces.
Then there is the newborn I photographed at birth and then again at 4 days young which was hard to not pick because I love a newborn sleepy face or calm awareness face. But I had to go with my personal favorite because well, I have mama goggles and it was her milestone birthday this month.

An AAmazing Afternoon. [medina county, birth/newborn photographer]

Last Sunday afternoon, I had the privilege of photographing one of the most amazing miracles I know. So many times before I have been on the other end of this miracle (5 to be exact) but being the person in labor and the one delivering you miss a lot of the amazing miracle that happens. The true awesomeness that surrounds such an event.

One last hug as the little one in the family.

The truly amazing power a women has. Watching that very moment she has to reach deep down inside herself to pull every last ounce of energy she has to bring her baby into the world.

yes, that says 8 pounds 8 ounces!!

I love how baby ‘D’ is looking up for his mommy. The voice he has heard for so long. Watching as the proud parents meet their little one for the first time. Then showing him off to visitors. The sheer happiness, wonder and love in their eyes.

Proud daddy was the only one to get him to take a his first bottle.

I was truly giddy for days afterwards. Trying to describe it was impossible without smiling and all I could say was ‘It was amazing. It was awesome.’

I want to Thank Jen and Ken for allowing me to be present. To witness such a special moment in their lives. I will never forget that afternoon. I count it such an awesome privilege.

I knew I loved the process of labor, delivery and newborns but last Sunday affirmed to me that I need to pursue my desire to offer this service to pregnant women. This is such a special time in their lives. I ended 2010 offering Belly to Baby photo sessions. I want to continue this option as well as offer Birth photography. So until April 1, 2011 kOphotography will be looking for 2 clients who will allow me to photograph their birth at a generously discounted rate so I can build my portfolio. I LOVE black and white photos. I think I might have to say that that is an understatement. So while visit I heart Faces this weekend I was bummed that I didn’t have any images that fit the bill, per say. Until I was editing a PPD from last week and came acrossed this image. I have not photographed this alley for a while and now am not sure why. The textures are awesome, the old colored paint is amazing and now the ivy and vines have increased it’s awesomeness.

I can finally share these images from an amazing beautiful wedding day I was honored to photograph a month ago.

‘D’ the bride contacted me months before her special day. Getting to know her through our email conversations I knew it was going to be a very special day for her,her fiancé’ and her son. I had so many ideas for the bride and groom photo shoot time that when I saw the grounds my excitement grew. It was literally Picture perfect.
Plus, I could not have asked for more beautiful sun light for my lighting. Everything was absolutely Gorgeous!

I also used the chalkboard for them to write a special note to each other. They weren’t suppose to see the message until they viewed their final slideshow but a minor malfunction on my part ruined that surprise.

The bride.. So beautiful inside and out! She was so laid back and truly enjoyed her day.

So when I saw the challenge this week I thought I don’t have any orange images.. expect the awesome orange chair RR track shot. Or the pumpkin shot from last weeks 9 month old boy PPD. Or the new pillows I am in love with lately. Or.. you get the point right I have found that I have a lot of orange photos.

Then I remembered the wedding I did last month and knew I wanted to use this image in the challenge. LOVE this image, the lighting. the bouquet, the kiss, the sun rings at the bottom of the image, and the fun couple. I will be posting more once they have seen all of the images.

Family PPD Part III The ‘B’ family [Medina, Ohio Family photographer]

As promised here are a few more of the 'B’ family. I know they have had a hard week so hopefully this will bring a smile and some joy to their weekend. This family is AMaazing!!! So kind, loving, willing to help anyone at any moment no matter what is going on in their own home. They have been such a blessing to my family this past year. I can’t even began to Thank them!! All I can say is Thank you and we Love you all!! Thanks for being a friend and a blessing to us.

Family PPD part II the ‘N’ family [family photographer, medina county]

A few weeks ago my sister asked me to take her family portraits. We picked a day that fit into our schedules. Don’t you know it was one of the coldest days of the week. And a little dreary out all day. The golden hour here seems to be switching day by day. The sun came out just as I arrived at the sight but it was still a bit on the cold side.

I love the haze and tall grass in these first few.

Then we put my new vintage quilt [that I have to say I am LOVING!] down.

We did try for a few of the boys alone. They both have the most amazing blue eyes.

Another new [er] prop I love using. Little ‘J’ wanted to pull it to him to teeth on.

And just one of my favorites from the PPD. Can’t all kids do this Forever?!

The price of beauty [personal]

Today my little baby ‘F’ got a lesson in the price of beauty as a woman. When I found out I was having a girl with Ms.’C’ I knew right away she had to have her ears pierced. If I could have done it in the delivery room I would have but they have to have a set of shots complete before any place will pierce their ears. This was hard for me because I HATE giving them shots in fact it is ‘F’ who has to take them. I just can’t handle it. The needle, the look on their little face, everything I HATE it.

But getting their ears done I am fine with. I can even watch and photograph. This is baffling to ‘F’. He still gets the hard part, holding their heads still, well someone has to photograph it. They do both ears at the same time and these ladies today were super fast and awesome. Baby ‘F’ hated being held still the most and cried for only a few minutes not even a scream just a mad cry when it was being done.

Baby ‘F’ is so adorable but with her ears done she is MORE adorable.

AND…

I know a little hard to get the whole adorable effect because my camera just wants to focus on those beautiful blue eyes.

9 Months Today!!

Almost exactly baby ‘F’ is 9 months old. Where has the time gone.

She has grown so much in the last 3 months. I was just looking back at her 6 month shoot. I know most of you won’t be able to tell but she does have more hair. It is very light and a bit on the red side.

She has 6 teeth, eats solid food, gets from one side of the room to the other although we are really not sure how. It is a cross between crawling, launching and rolling. Just this week is pulling herself up on furniture or anyone who is standing still. Fake laughs to get your attention and screams the awful ear piercing scream if you take something away or I walk out of the room.

I am so proud of the high school seniors I have photographed this season. But these two women are at the top of my list.

First, Ms.’D’. She is the sweetest, most polite, out going, gorgeous women. Just this past week she signed with Georgetown with a full ride basketball scholarship. I am so proud of her.

Next is Ms. ‘B’. She just has a special place in my heart. I could not be more proud of all she has accomplished this year. Such an amazing story she has. So PROUD of you ‘B’!! And she is absolutely G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S!!

You can tell it is Holiday season. And in all honesty, I am not ready for the holidays. I have been photographing families every other session. I love to watch the family dynamics. I love to watch the interaction between everyone. I just love to watch a family’s love. And there is no better time then during a portrait session. I have really enjoyed getting to know these families better. I have so many to share so this will be part one!

Love when I can capture the love between mom and dad that started it all.

Pumpkin time [personal]

This past weekend the colors of fall really were so vibrant we decide that in between soccer, photo play dates, Night of Worship, which by the way was AWESOME and just what I needed. plus a trip to the ER we decided to visit a pumpkin patch. It was so nice to be outside and enjoy this weather.

The kids were just as excited to pick out pumpkins.

And trying to pick them up.. they all wanted the biggest. it is the new thing in the ‘O’ household everything is a competition.

She wins for cutest!!! but do you see her vampire tooth? poor thing.

Hope you all got out and enjoyed the weather and maybe even got pumpkins of your own.

Fun chair, RR tracks and a visit from the police [senior portrait photographer, Medina County]

Had a fun senior session this afternoon with an awesome senior. ‘B’ is gorgeous and was up for anything. Including a fun shot on some railroad tracks with this awesome chair. Thanks ‘S’ for allowing me to use it. As we were set up the shot a younger male driver drove past and told us we were not allowed to put things on the tracks. Ok we said. Then he said we was calling the police and taking my license plate number. Not really sure what I heard I asked him to repeat himself he mumbled something and drove off. ‘B’ and I moved quickly and got a few shots off just as 2 police officers pulled up. They were very nice and asked us to remove the chair. Then reminded me to stay off the tracks and move on. So we did. I was so thankful!

I really couldn’t believe that gentlemen called the police. I will say I do understand it is trespassing to be on the tracks and normally I have called the city to let them know I would be doing a session with the request of track shots. but I didn’t today. So to my fellow photographers.. Track images are a no! no!.

lesson learned.

Have to say I think ‘B’ rocked it anyway.

I can’t believe I forgot to blog about this family photo play date. ‘J’ contacted me after seeing the ‘K’ family’s portraits so I was thrilled to finally meet them. It was a rather warm muggy day but their neighbor’s backyard offered an amazing backdrop.

Love this first image. The backlight was amazing.

Baby ‘R’ was wide awake when I arrived but as soon as we stepped outside he feel asleep.

One of my favorites. I am just loving this box and the endless ways to use it.

Sweet Sweet baby love [ newborn photographer, medina county]

I had the privilege of photographing this sweet teeny tiny baby girl. I have photographed the family and big brother for a few years now. So I was delighted to be able to capture sweet baby ‘B’. These early days have been trying (to say the least) for Mommy and Daddy but hopefully they will look back at the images and smile. It is such a fast priceless moment in time.

Love her eyes and mommy and daddy’s hands. Mommy was singing to her here, she just turned her head and locked in on her face and held this pose for a good while. It was so precious.

An evening with the 'L' family. [medina county Family photographer]

I have a had a lot of families this past month. 'L' and I have been trying to align the planets to make this photo play date happen. I am so glad we were persisant and made it happen.

'L' wasn't sure her yard would make a good enough backdrop. But when I saw the front of the house and the huge stack stone colums and wall plus the weeping willow in the neighbors yard I knew it would be alright.
Not to mention the adorable subjects. they do make the image!! ;0)
This is their oldest 'E' So much personality! She was into modeling but I was happy to catch a real smile. Such a sweetheart.

Then Ms. 'J' she is 3 and just adorable. I loved her hair. It was styled all spikey in the back. She has beautiful eyes.

Next is Mr. 'R'. So handsome and a willing model until the very end. He was all smiles for dad not so sure of my camera.

He did great until the end. But both 'L' and I felt it was fitting for him to be crying for this set up. I am so in love with this box!! Thanks to my son 'T'for keeping his eye for me while cleaning out great grandpa's house.

We did end on a good laugh.

It was a blast hanging out with the 'L' family. Thanks for having me 'J' and 'L'.

Eyes! [personal, challenge]

I love to capture people as they are today. No fuss just being. But I love eyes!! I love to be able to see the light in someone's eyes. I secretly get extremely excited when I capture that and those gorgeous catchlights in my subjects eyes.
I was just as excited when I visited a daily blog read of mine. Willette's Design. She issued a challenge and to quote her.."i love a good challenge."
Better yet it is a challenge to capture the eyes of your loved ones.
I had to play.
This is my oldest on his senior portrait session[I am now booking for fall seniors sessions]

This is his girlfriend who has become part of the family. And, Kelly, I didn't enhance her eye color at all just a touch of sharpening. I swear.

Another personal session for me my baby boy is turning five at the end of this month so we did his 5 year old photo play date.

While upload some images from the other shoots I found this one of my little Ms. I love her dark eyes. They are a challenge themself to capture those catchlights.

and of course I have to add baby girl. I love her color of her eyes too!

What a wonderful family I had the priviledge of capturing. When 'E' first contacted me about capturing her family, she shared with me that her immediate family was moving to Texas. She wanted a image of her whole family in front of her childhood home. Her and her husband had purchased the home from her mom and dad. Plus, her cousin lives next door. How neat to have famly so close!
I agreed and then found out the whole family was 32 people!! You would have never guessed there was that many people there that evening. It went amazingly smooth.

Then 'E' had me back to capture just her girls.

It is bittersweet to say Good-bye to this family that I have just gotten to know. I wish them the best of luck in Texas. I know God has great plans for them there.

My Shadow [Personal]

I had to schedule my own son's senior ppd. I still can't believe he is a senior this year. So we scheduled for a Thursday. We did run into some scheduling difficulties due to my schedule and his work schedule. More on his session later.
Poor 'G' has been asking if he can come on a shoot for the longest time. Since it was his brother I thought this would be the perfect shoot for him to tag along on.
Do you think he was a little excited?

He even got to carry around one of my older cameras. He was so happy to be able to snap some pics.

Now, that 'S's session is done. It is time for 'G's 5 year old ppd. We did take a practice shot.

I heart faces PURPLE Challenge [personal]

This weeks challenge over at is purple. Now I am not a huge purple person myself but when I found out I was having another girl. I wanted her to have her own 'color' 'C' was in everything and anything PINK of course, after 5 boys it was only fitting.
So 'F' color became the next girly color purple.
I love this photo of her in this adorable purple cocoon given to her by my niece, Jessica. The color is so rich and photographs so well.

'S' children PPD [medina county children-newborn photographer]

I got to spend a fun hot Saturday morning in June with the 'S' family.
They had just welcomed baby 'J' into their loving family.

Rachael had contacted me before baby 'J' was born to schedule his newborn PPD. Plus they would be needing an updated children image for their prayer and information cards.
Dan and Rachael along with their 3 children are missionaries to Togo, West Africa through an organization called Faster and Farther (ABWE Aviation Church Planters). Both Dan and Rachael are pilots and I would safely guess that their son 'I' will be following in their footsteps.

He is well versed in all things aviation.

The whole family is raising support for their mission to Togo.
They are such a neat family. I am amazed at their level of faith and trust in God to provide for their needs and their willingness to go where ever God needs them. Like Togo where cars can't travel. I am excited to watch how God continues to work through them.

Water hose fun [Personal]

In catching up on my blog. I came across these images of my own little ones.
It has been extremely hot here lately. So to cool off 'F' takes the little ones outside to get them wet with the water hose. Great in theory!!
He sits in the shade and sprays them. Now 'G' thinks it is awesome, the best fun ever. He runs right into the steady stream head first. Sometimes using bats to defend himself.

'C' on the other hand. Talks a big talk inside getting ready. But as soon as she gets outside and a drop of water touches her. She freaks out. She turns around and runs back to the house,all the while screaming,'No Daddy!'
She will come back out if 'F' uses the mist setting on the hose. As soon as he turns it back to get 'G' she starts to cry.

The 'K' family [Medina County Portrait Photographer]

Continuing the quest to catch up on blogging. This a family PPD from June.
'K' contacted me about capturing her family in their own environment and the terms of little 'N' and big brother 'S'. She expressed to me that they had tried some local studios and were not very successful in capturing little 'N' or the family.
I had planned to venture around their town. My family and I head out there the night before to scope out some fun potential locations. We found a park, pizza place and an old time ice cream stand. I could see the possibilities adding up as we drove around.
But, when I got to the 'K' home and saw their beautiful property and how shy little 'N' was we all decided to stay put. Plus is was a very hot day.
It took a while for the little ones to feel comfortable but once they did I was able to get some adorable shots.
This PPD was such a blast. I think I will cherish it maybe a bit more then the family.

Cutie pie..Something about this image I just love, is it his smirk or his little toes. It just gets to me.

Little girl 'N' is to adorable for words. I was shocked to see her all grown up. She was one of my very first newborns I was able to photograph.

One of my favorites. EVER.

We ended the photo playdate with bubbles. It was so fun.

I have know 'J' since he was 4 years old.
Oh, how he has changed. Into a fun, creative, full of life young man!
But through my lens and editing his images I can still see that sweet little boy I once knew. In his smile or his walk.
I know his parents are so proud of him and the man he has become.
My hat is off to both of you, 'S' and 'D' give yourselves a pat on the back for a another job well done. Only a few more to go! ;) wink*wink.

The cutest 3 month old. [through momma goggles]

What a difference a few months can make. To say that we have a high need, fussy maybe colicky baby might have been the understatement of the past few months.
But almost to the day of her 3 month birthday she is a completely different baby.
Smiling, giggling, able to sit for a few minutes by herself, enjoys a little more tummy time.
She is so much more social now. It is amazing.
Here are a few of 'lovey loves' 3 month photo play date.
I thank God for her big BLUEberry eyes. I love them.

So close to rolling over, it took forever to get this shot, she kept rolling on her side.

She won't take a pacifier but she LOVES her fingers.

I have been anxiously waiting for Mother's day to be over so that I could post these images of such a great loving family.
'B' and her sister wanted to do some images for their mom as a surprise for Mother's Day.
So we set up the day and just had a blast trying to get everyone to cooperate.
'B' thinks that photographer should rate up there with teachers for patience. I am not so sure. As a photographer I just have to play for an few hours and be silly to get the genuine smiles I am looking for. Teachers have kids 7 hours a day for months.

In the end I was beyond pleased with what we were able to accomplish.
And today I can finally share. It was killing me not too.

Then individuals of the kiddos,
Big cousin 'S' he is 5 and all boy, but he loved his moment by himself.

Then beautiful 'J' who is beyond adorable. The things she says she makes my heart melt.

This is my absolute favorite image. I love it.

Lastly is the boy baby'E'. He is such a chunky monkey and smiley boy. I can't get enough.

as a side note.. if i have to sing 'there's a whole in the bucket dear 'E'" one more time I just might never sing at a photo play date. My kids just think it is so funny that i had to change the words to get some smiles.

And then this last image is just because I love this out take. Poor big cousin just stood there while baby 'E'and 'J' messed with his head. It was too funny.

Baby 'D' [Medina County Newborn Photographer]

Last week I had the best afternoon!! I met baby 'D' and her mommy.
She was 5 days old for our photo play date and she did absolutely amazing.
She slept, posed, ate and then we started all over again. I loved every minute of it.

Almost a month of maternity leave

Has passed and it has taken me that long to get some shots of my new baby girl.
Working with your own baby is more work then one would think.
When it is a client I can get most babies to sleep, in the really good deep sleep within the 2-4 hour period.
But with my own it has taken me a good 5 DAYS to get her to sleep, the deep sleep needed to pose her.
I did get to try some natural light shots and some with my studio lights. It was more work than I had anticipated but worth the experiences.
Newborns are still my favorite. And when I look at her I am still amazed at the amazing, perfect gift God has entrusted me with. My heart just melts when I look at her, smell her and kiss her perfect little face.

The best part of being pregnant

This has to be the best part of being pregnant for me. Besides growing an amazing, wonderful gift from God.
That I am able to eat ice cream all of it that I want. I am lactose intolerant any other time in my life, So it is a big deal for me.
This is also what reminds me of this January. A new baby and eating chilly ice cream.

I heart faces photo challenge [ we are family]

Last week was I heart faces 1st birthday. Which is very exciting. They had challenges all week along with some awesome giveaways. I was so going to enter all week, I had the images I wanted to enter but never had the time to get them uploaded. Why?
Because I have been swamped with family sessions lately. So when I saw that I heart faces is celebrating families with the We are family challenge this week, I knew I had to enter. I had no excuse families are all I am proofing these days.

This family fit all of the criteria. Has to have an adult in it. children of a variety of ages, something fun and different.
Plus, the mom and I have been friends since high school and they are just such a fun, loving, inspirational family.
When I asked mom and dad to kiss, mom started laughing then they gave me the quickest peck of a kiss. I am really surprised I caught it and everyone is in focus. I even made the comment.. "Man, I have to be quick with you two," which made us all laugh. That image is another one of my favorites. But since I can only enter one.

I also had a fun morning ppd with baby 'A'. Who I watch while her mom and dad take spinning class. She is the happiest little girl. Always a ton of smiles and now giggles.

'J' senior ppd {medina, ohio senior photographer}

'J' is one of my senior reps for this year. We went out mid October for her PPD. It was a gorgeous fall day. The colors were amazing.

'J' is an animal lover who owns a horse and two dogs. We started at her pasture where she keeps her horse , then hit some railroad tracks and we finished at her Grandfathers' home.
It was so nice to spend the afternoon with her and her mom. They are just wonderful friends.

'E' mini photo play date

'E' and I had a mini PPD a few weeks back. It was a gorgeous day with the sun but, you will not be able to tell from the photos, but it was a bit chilly.
I had the best time getting to know 'E', she is very involved at school and running track. After the shoot she was heading over to get a couple of exchange students from Finland her family was hosting.
Just a wonderful women with a great personality, gorgeous blue eyes, and very photogenic. They only needed a few head shot type images, but I just couldn't stop taking her picture.

I forgot to mention, she made a comment that she likes her freckles, it defines her as 'E'. I just thought that was really cool. To be a senior and be so confident in who she is. Amazing.

She was up for any posing. Not a head shot but I love how this one turned out.

While talking I found out mom would like some flower images. Hard to find beautiful full bloom flowers but I think we did it.

then to a couple of my favorite 'urban' spots. I have not been here in a long time.

Baby love

I had the most wonderful afternoon with this little man. He really was not in the sleepy mood

but mom and I outlasted him with our patience. So I was able to try some new poses.
Still so adorable!!

But he outlasted us with his ability to suck his pacifier and he was not giving it up.

One of the best things about newborn photo play dates is watching the new baby love the mama's have. Love capturing mama's admiration.

Thanks for sharing him, C!! So wonderful to chat, too!!

This is another h.s. senior who is just absolutely so photogenic I can't stand myself.
We meet on a farm and had such a wonderful time. We had all the props one could ask for. A lake, a swing, fences, red barn, soybeans sprouting, and a smiling trusty ol' tractor.

In between h.s. seniors I had a visit from one of my 'forget-me-knot milestone' babies.
I was excited to use the red petti skirt and my favorite new prop, the green chair.
'J' was all over the place so those two things helped keep her still for a moment. and very brief moment.
But I am so in love with her big blue eyes!! they are so inviting and alive.

and this one might find it's way on my studio walls. Love this image. all of it!!

Been busy with h.s Seniors

I have loved this past month of being with high school seniors. They are so fun and free.
Plus, they know how to pose and hold still. ha ha.
'N' and 'K' did their shoot in downtown Columbus. Which was very different, fresh and extremely FUN!!
I got to get away for the WHOLE day. We ended the day with homemade ice cream which I am now craving daily.
Now without further ado.. Meet K...

A fun happy couple{engagement/ wedding}

I am so far behind in sneak peeks. Mostly because I am editing my first solo wedding. What a lot of fun and a great learning experience for me.
I have just picked a few to share for now. But more may come later.

But before we get to some wedding day images.
We held a quick mini engagement shoot in between the rehearsal and dinner. Lucky for me my favorite railroad tracks were on the way to dinner.

The story of how 'B' proposed is a great one. So we had to make sure we emphasized the 'ring'.

For my last posed shot I asked 'B' to dip 'D'.
"Really?" he answered.
"yes!, is that a problem?" I asked.
"We don't know how to do that" replied 'D'
So I tried my best to instruct them on how to dip. Then I asked them to try the dip in the middle of the road.
"with the traffic coming?" 'B' asked.
" they will stop." I said. "We will do it really fast."
I smiled when I saw this image. Love the look on their faces. And if I remember correctly, one motorist was not thrilled we were not moving faster.

Now on to the big day.

Mrs. 'D' is a wonderful new friend I met through church. She loves my baby girl and takes great care of her in Sunday school. So when she asked if I would take her wedding photos I felt honored.
She made a beautiful, happy, excited, gushing bride.

She didn't get there all on her own. She had some wonderful bridesmaids helping her get ready.

The bride and groom didn't see each other before the wedding per se... so I had a little fun with them. They were not to sure of my vision but went along with the pose.

And then they got to see each other alone in the sanctuary..

Love it! She was just gushing over her man and he was just in awe of how beautiful she looked. newly-wed love!!

This little ring bearer was so adorable. He needed his blankie to make it down the long aisle.

Moving!

Just want to update everyone as to why I have not updated this blog in forever.

We are in the process of moving.

I have been packing and packing and doing a few photo play dates and packing and trying to edit and packing.
I think you get the idea.

Please know that I am working on your slide shows as I have some free time.
I will let you know when they are up and ready for your viewing.

I am moving this weekend June 5-8.
So, I will be out of the "office" until then.

I, also , will not have Internet access until Tuesday, June 9. in the evening.

Please hang in there with me. I have so many awesome images to share. Just not enough hours in the day.

This is the best group of young adults ever!! I am so lucky! They all got along and rocked out our mini shoot this past Sunday.

Mr.Baby Love

Have I told you all how much I L.O.V.E. photographing newborns?
This one is no exception to that statement. If any thing it is an understatement for yesterdays newborn photo play date.
I have been doing a lot of newborn baby girls lately. Which is wonderful. But yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Mr.'J' .

He was absolutely a handsome little man. And tiny and scrunchy and sleepy. Oh I just want to kiss him up.
One other feature he has that was most adorable. A head of black hair!

With out further gushing.. Mr. Baby Love:

This is the best.. He was the most smiley little man. Sometimes even on cue. When I would say something funny or put my camera down to reposition him. He would give the biggest grin.
